About Dr. Melo
In our office, Dr. Melo focuses on correcting the primary cause of the problem.
Dr. Melo finds NeuroStructural Shifts of the spine, which often result in secondary conditions. By using a combination of live motion radiographs, structural radiographs, and Infrared analysis of the spine, we can identify and correct the NeuroStructural Shifts. We not only address the secondary issues but look to identify and correct what’s causing the secondary conditions.
We realize some people are only looking for a temporary “patch” and there is nothing wrong with that. There are also hundreds of other professionals who provide this type of service and can do a great job at it.
We have found that those who seek out our services are those who are looking for a long-term solution to their problem. This is done with a complete, customized plan of care for each individual.
They say everything happens for a reason.
At the age of 11 years old, I was in a wrestling meet and ended up hurting my lower spine. I had spasms and pain so bad I could not bend over, sit up straight, or move. I was paralyzed with fear wondering if I would be able to play sports again. My mother took me to her chiropractor.
Not only did this chiropractor help me get out of pain, but he also strengthened my spine. This chiropractor changed my view of health and, in truth, he changed my life. He taught me that health comes from the amazing power of the body in the form of the brain and spinal cord. It is within this power where true healing begins. Shortly after I began Chiropractic school I had a mentor who asked me to reflect on what other ways chiropractic has changed my life. As a young child, I had a really bad stuttering problem and I was not able to pronounce certain words or had extreme difficulties with certain letters. A few months after I began chiropractic care my speech improved. It wasn’t until I was asked to reflect on how my life changed that I realized my speech improvement was directly related to chiropractic care.
During my sophomore year of high school, my social studies teacher asked everyone in the class who was going to college. I was in the minority, I had no college plans. About one year later that same chiropractor who helped with my back issues and stuttering problems as a kid asked me a question that changed the direction of my life. He asked if I was going to college to which I replied, “I’m not sure, but probably not.” The chiropractor then asked if I had thought about becoming a chiropractor. I simply told him “I’ll look into it.” I did a little bit of research and the more I learned about chiropractic, the more inspired I became. From that point on, I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor and educate my community on the true meaning of health.
I finished high school with a mission to do whatever it took to become a chiropractor. I attended a local community college and then I was accepted to Life University in Marietta, Georgia where I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
I married the love of my life while I was in Chiropractic school and she and I traveled to the St. Petersburg area so that I could complete my Chiropractic internship. We fell in love with the area and decided to stay. Within the last few years, I’ve developed a love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and now passionately follow mixed martial arts. I particularly enjoy working with athletes and helping them function at their most optimal performance levels. I also don’t mind attending a fight or two and cheering them on from the crowd.
In June 2014 my wife and I were blessed with a new family member and welcomed our son Carmelo Ramirez IV (“Little Melo”) to the world. Watching him grow and learn has been an incredibly fulfilling experience and he inspires me every day to use my passion for chiropractic to help improve the lives of others.
